Smile ATC Question. Digital or Analogue Scanner?

Hi there.

I am new to this site but an avid plane watcher.
I'm wondering if anyone knows if Sydney ATC is going to switch to digital any time soon? I want to buy a scanner asap and don't know whether to get a cheap analogue or digital.

Can anyone help me as to whether to buy digital or analogue and if so which type? I've been looking closely at the Uniden UBCD369xt for around $400 but being digital it's a bit pricy, so would a cheap analogue do the job or will they change over, in which case I'm better off with digital. I'm so confused!!! Can anyone help me decide?

Many thanks,
Tania

An analogue scanner will work fine, I don't think there is a plan to switch over to digital?

Default Digital Scanner

Hi Tanyia,
I have a Unedin 396xt digital scanner for sale complete with vehicle installation kit and external antenna. I am not looking as much as $400 for it.
It is in excellent unmarked condition.
