We have family in Sydney, and have been fortunate enough to come out 7 times so far. We have flown Virgin Atlantic, Singapore Airlines, Cathay Pacific, Emirates and China Airlines. When travel restrictions are lifted, we will be looking to book our next trip, hopefully for your autumn. Other than the first 2 trips in Virgin Premium Economy, we have sampled the business offering of the other airlines, and our favourite so far has been China Airlines in their A350. It was especially useful to fly out of Gatwick rather than Heathrow.
For our next trip it would take a great deal from Qantas or other airline for us to use anyone other than China Airlines, even if they have moved to Heathrow by then. Do we think the big boy airlines will be offering really cheap fares to encourage extra travellers? The A380 is our second favourite machine, after the A350, so we would be OK flying in the big bird but the timings for the China Airlines flights have been perfect. Any indications from QF about how they intend to encourage passengers to book with them?

I'm sure that all airlines including Qantas will be offering some great deals once restrictions are lifted.
I don't like your chances of flying Qantas in Autumn 2021 as Qantas have currently suspended all international flying until October 2021 at this stage.
As Covid is still a constantly evolving situation, there's no telling when things will start resuming.

QANTAS has only pulled its international flights up to the end of March, 2021.

Most pundits are saying that the borders won't re-open until July 2021 at the earliest.

Unless a Covid vaccine/cure is tested and disseminated.

Predictions and speculation are impossible or pointless at the current time. Don't expect much more than domestic travel for a year.

It isn't just the COVID-19 virus that is making our choices for us at present - the airlines also need to be in decent shape -- many are a mess even though COVID-19 has had minimal impact in Australia compared to other nations.

The financial impact is far worse for many people than the pandemic's effects on them!
