So why comment at all if you arent going to share the facts

Question Something odd is happening ...

Lots of anecdotes doing the rounds today about odd things occuring which have seriously disrupted schedules. Examples include a door that wouldn't close in BNE, a nail in a tyre at OOL, faulty ground equipment in MEL.

There does seem to be an abnormal spike of delay-causing incidents beyond what statistical probability would support, even given the bad weather along the east coast.

I also heard that QF hit the side of a JQ aircraft with stairs in Tasmania today and caused damage, causing significant delays with the aircraft out for most of the day.

Philip,
Not so much an abnormal spike in delay-causing incidents as perhaps an abnormal spike in reporting of delay-causing incidents in the wider media.

It's not that they never happen - it's just that usually you won't hear about it.

Not sure that's right, Adam.

My reports come from business colleagues who were on the affected flights.

unless sources go on the record your word is as good as useless...no offence intended in what I'm saying and I don't necessarily disbelieve, its just how it is until someone puts their name to it.
