Most of them are being re-born as freighters.

There is life after QF

Not for the Rollers there isn't.

Sarah C 14th January 2014 04:09 AM

OGP the next to go - departs Saturday at 3pm direct to VCV.

Bradley Porter 19th January 2014 09:47 AM

OGP didn't want to leave, returned to the gate with a door problem before getting away on the second attempt !

NathanJ 13th February 2014 09:14 PM

OGQ was in a hanger minus roo & titles today.

Greg Hyde 14th February 2014 05:49 PM

Some rollers live on after QF.

VH-ZXF is now flying with JetAsia as HS-JAS

Sarah C 18th February 2014 12:00 PM

OGQ just left our shores, off to the desert.

There are now 13 left in the fleet

C Patters 20th April 2014 07:54 AM

Does anyone know which 767 is next on the retirement list?

Brad Myer 9th May 2014 09:15 AM

6 B763s will be retired by December 2014.

The remaining B763s will be retired by March 2015.

Alex Lui 24th May 2014 09:14 AM

Just did a bit of a search... Updated in April on Speednews.com, the rest QF 767 fleet is listed for sale, except OGJ and OGK. I am assuming that these two maybe owned by QF, hence the last to retire??

David O. 30th June 2014 11:30 AM

Just spotted on FlightRadar24 and confirmed on FlightAware, OGH is off to VCV today.

Joseph Saragozza. 30th July 2014 01:07 PM

I wish one of the 763 should be sent to longreach. If only space wasn't an issue

Rowan McKeever 30th July 2014 01:26 PM

I posted this in another thread - word on one of the facebook spotters' pages is that OGG is being retired at the end of its duties today. Not sure how accurate that is.

Brad Myer 30th July 2014 02:41 PM

Makes sense as QF A330 EBB enters service tomorrow.

Kieran Wells 30th July 2014 07:00 PM

VH-OGG has just landed in Sydney completing her service for QF. She will now be stripped bare, and sent off to the Megahub at VCV.

Here she is as she left as QF443 to Melbourne..

Rowan McKeever 30th July 2014 07:48 PM

That's a sad day then... fingers crossed she becomes one of Westjet's 4 767s and they do something nice with her :)

John Thoroughgood 30th July 2014 08:51 PM

Agree- sorry to see her go. The 76s ability to get vertical so quickly has always impressed me.

Interestingly, there was a refueller hooked up to it when it was parked on bay this evening. I thought perhaps they'd wait until it was ready for its final departure before topping up the tanks.

Fred C 31st July 2014 02:03 AM

As they don't often use the centre wing fuel tank domestically, they fill it up and do a leak check on it before it goes. They will most probably then transfer it to other aircraft in the mean time or if they find any leaks then fix them before it goes. The final flight will leave full of fuel.

Nigel C 31st July 2014 02:41 AM

Thanks Fred, much appreciated.

Tom PER 3rd August 2014 09:22 PM

Take this with a pinch of salt but there is a thread over at airliners.... that Canadian LCC, WestJet is taking 4 ex QF B763's which will be refurbished them before entering service.

Andrew Coggan 12th August 2014 08:57 PM

VH-OGG departed about midday today bound for LAX as QF6021 with an all female crew receiving a water canon salute.

Daniel M 13th August 2014 08:55 AM

Ahhh the first aircraft I ever jumpseated on !

Rowan McKeever 13th August 2014 10:48 AM

According to skyliners-aviation.de VH-OGK was WFU after operating QF462 last Thursday, 7th of August and will ferry to VCV soonish.

Garry Emanuel 13th August 2014 11:16 AM

How many does leave as active in the fleet now ?

Rowan McKeever 13th August 2014 11:48 AM

I get 10 plus the freighter (-EFR):

-OGI, -OGJ, -OGL, -OGM, -OGN, -OGO, -OGR, -OGS, -OGT, -OGU

Looking through all the -OGx on flightaware there's a fair bit of slack in some of their flying... mightn't be too long before the next one is on its way out?

Greg Hyde 13th August 2014 01:34 PM

Are the new B738's and returning A330's taking up the B767 services ?

Mick F 13th August 2014 02:57 PM

Sure, the water cannon salutes look nice, but it's just a retiring 767. Maybe the last one deserves one.

Sydney's going to run out of water by the time the remaining Qantas fleet that's due for retirement leaves our shores.

Mick

Fred C 13th August 2014 05:16 PM

VH-OGK is due to leave our shores on Friday 15th at 1115.

Thats the plan. There will be extra flying for the 73H fleet which will take up some of the slack.

The 332s returning from JQ would also fill the capacity although it represents a significant increase in seats (303 on the 332s vs 252 on the B763s).

Ricky T 15th August 2014 01:50 PM

VH-OGK departed this morning (Friday) from SYD to VCV as QF 6017.

The duration between retirement and the ferry flight for OGK was relatively short compared to OGG.

Greg Hyde 15th August 2014 03:40 PM

Once they get good at it, (fast) they will run out of planes.

OGK wasn't covered in 'Planes' logos, so that may have something to do with it.

Zac M 10th September 2014 11:23 PM

VH-OGR will finish up ops with Qantas after the completion of QFA4 on Sunday from HNL, it will depart for storage the following day.

Fred C 11th September 2014 12:02 AM

Not quite Zac. It is sched to do some domestic sectors SYD-MEL on Fri 12.
It is then due to fly to Alice Springs on the following Friday.

Is this the first aircraft to arrive at the Australian A/C storage facility?

Zac M 11th September 2014 12:09 AM

Ok, so changed again...or the info wasn't passed through correctly to me :P

There's actually a few there, there was a couple of Network E120s which have since departed, there is 9V-TRA/B (Tigerair A319s) as well as 9V-TRO (Tigerair A320) and an Our Airline (I think VH-INU) Boeing 737-300.

Not quite Fred. Tigerair A319's 9V-TRA, 9V-TRB & TigerAir A320 9V-TRO, Our Airline B737-300 VH-INU are already stored there. There was a former Network E120 there, bu that has departed the country.

Tom PER 11th September 2014 01:57 AM

I believe -OGR and it's 3 international siblings might be WestJet bound, but another source quotes them as earlier build airframes so not 100% certain.

Greg Hyde 13th September 2014 02:53 PM

QF Source is reporting that

QANTAS B767-300ER VH-OGR Withdrawn.

September 12, 2014

QANTAS Boeing 767-338ER VH-OGR was withdrawn from service at Sydney this evening after arriving as QF462 from Melbourne. This brings the Boeing 767-300ER passenger fleet down to nine aircraft.
