Maybe OGV was close to a heavy check? Maybe QF didn't offer OGV for sale at the time Boeing Capital were sourcing the aircraft for Westjet? Maybe QF already had a buyer for OGV? Just because its sitting at Victorville doesn't mean it hasn't already been sold!

EDIT: Apologies for my earlier post regarding Westjet Regos, they are as follows, not as previosly stated:
VH-OGI is C-FOGT
VH-OGJ is C-FOGJ
VH-OGL is C-FWAD
VH-OGN is C-FOGN

OGV had a mid galley [as did OGD/E/F] and was originally for domestic operations. It was an orphan in the fleet [and became part of the smaller Cairns Australian Airlines fleet] and I believe that it was not converted to the standard layout.

If this was the case, Westjet would have taken the four common interiors to work with, rather than 3 of one type and a fourth which required a variance.

For safety training, with a mid galley, it had fire extinguisher and oxygen cylinders located in proximity to the galley along with other differences, thus becoming a variation in examinations for cabin crew.

Additionally, for galley loading, the caterers had to know that it was scheduled for setting up their trucks to deliver carts to galleys using forward and aft doors. This mid galley was not at a door and required carts to be pushed from the forward doors down the aisle to the galley, whereas most galleys have door access [the former BA 763s with mid galleys had doors 2 for access].

From memory back in my days as a cleaner (saying it like that makes me sound old haha) OGV was the same interior wise as the other 767s (this was late 2012/early2013 before she was retired). In saying that, I could be wrong as I only cleaned her a handful of times as we got very limited 767 services in Canberra.

Interesting as C-FWAD was on one of their 737-7CTs when I saw it in Vancouver in September 2013.

Looks like that 737 has been retired and sold/leased to Southwest.

I found this seat plan for OGV with 221 economy [undated]:

https://www.qantas.com.au/infodetail...63-30J217Y.pdf

However, The QF source notes:

29/06/2006 - Re-entered service for QANTAS as QF189 Sydney - Auckland in Australian Airlines livery.

23/08/2006 - Unveiled at Beijing in QANTAS livery. Reconfigured to 30J/224Y.

So it is a mystery about a 15 year old aircraft remaining in the desert.

Would not surprise me if N317CM ex VH-OGO was heading to Tel Aviv for conversion to freighter as Cargo Aircraft Management has had previous ex QF aircraft converted there.

CAM is parent company for ABX & ATI where previous QF B767's has ended up.

It a wait and see at this stage if it moves on from Mumbai

Thanks Greg,

Could not pick it up going to Amman after BOM.

Interesting destination or maybe a transit stop ???

Wait and see again to see where it finally ends up.

Could you keep track of it as I lost it after BOM.

Appreciate any info as I have currently updated all QF B767's histories

Regards

Neil

You can track N371CM on FlightRadar24. The aircraft is now at Ben Gurion Airport (Tel Aviv).
