When will the 6 A321 be retired, from the beginning of the XLRs or with back half of the LRs?

The paint job has been messed up. May be fixed before delivery

James Smith 30th June 2024 03:32 PM

Are you referring to the orange paint along the wing fairing on OYU, Stirling. If so, the engine mount is covered by a plastic that is only a slightly deeper colour to the orange paint, with it giving the impression that the paint goes higher up the fairing. If the covering wasn't in place I think that the orange along the fairing would be identical to other Jetstar A321LRs.

The shade of grey of the actual paint. It is not metallic at all.

Not wrong! What I would describe as a whiteish grey.

James Smith 3rd July 2024 11:51 PM

Just wondering if this is a typo, or Jetstar’s first A320NEO?

Stirling D 7th July 2024 06:47 AM

Typo, it should be a 321N

James Smith 7th July 2024 04:28 PM

From Airliners Net the following was contributed to answer a question as to whether VH-A5A was to be a A321 or A320.

Quote:

"According to their half year FY24 results they are due to receive 5 A320neos in FY25 and have 10 total on order."
I cannot find any reference to this A320 order for Jetstar in the QANTAS half year FY24 results or Jetstar's. Additionally, as Greg has posted, Planespotters.net is listing A5A as an A320 for Jetstar, while Airfleets.net is showing it as an A321neoLR.

Confirmation would be appreciated to enable accurate recording for the members of this forum. ;) Plus other reasons.

No Typo, JQ is expecting A320neos (Fleet renewal).

The source (other then above) is highly reliable.

It will either be added to the VH-Reg or spotted at TLS to confirm

On page 30 it states that 5 A320neos are scheduled for delivery this FY25. And in AA this article also confirms the order for 10.

Btw how many A320ceos were reconfigured to 186 seats? On the JQ website and planespotters it states they are all 180 seat aircraft?

43 were meant to have been modified, JQ404 tomorrow is operated by one of them.

Christopher Campbell 7th July 2024 07:13 PM

Yeah that’s what I thought, it’s strange they have not updated the details.

I assume the 10 not reconfigured will be replaced by the 10 320neos like originally planned.

James Smith 7th July 2024 08:15 PM

Thank you so much, Christopher for clarifying the Jetstar A320neo order from the 1st half 24 Investor Presentation.

Brodie L 7th July 2024 09:50 PM

Only remaining 180Y A320s for JQ are the XNx and YXx block (if you want to count those). And VFY, VQE, VQF, VQM

For those who downloaded the above report, you note (3) that the order for the A320neos date back to May 2022 announcement.

Greg Hyde 9th July 2024 10:37 AM

A321-251NX VH-OYU/12030 was added to the register yesterday.

Brodie L 11th July 2024 10:08 AM

Another 2 MSNs added in, VH-A5B 12229, VH-A5C 12374. Would presume these are A320-251Ns at this stage.

You presumed correctly.

Chris Z 11th July 2024 01:58 PM

VH-OYV is msn 12159.

The A320 neos will be configured as 188 seaters.
