737s without live2air?

does DJ still have any 737s without live2air in service? I know -VBT didn't have it, but I believe they no longer operate it. I may be wrong but I think one of the DJ aircraft in Pacific Blue livery may be yet to receive the entertainment system

help appreciated

I believe by year end there will be 6 737 aircraft without Live-2-Air

VOX (PB Livery)
VUO
VBU

VUR (Due OCT)
VUS (Due NOV)
VUT (Due Dec)

VUQ doesnt have live2air either, think you will find it will be phased out as the fleet replacement takes place.

Are those earmarked to go to Pacific Blue NZ?

to be honest I prefer the Blue Beats IFE system over Live2air.

The only think going for Live2air is Flight Track

Hi Michael,

I believe that VH-VUO is actually ZK-PBM if you were to do an airframe search. I have flown ZK-PBM twice and my records seem to reflect this.

Cheers

Yes, VH-VUO is now ZK-PBM for Pacific Blue.
Also VH-VUR arrived in BNE this afternoon from NAN.

Nothing beats "Ladies and Gentlemen, we are pleased to offer you Live-2-Air on todays flight blah blah blah...." Then a few confused passengers. "Oh wait! Sorry ladies and gentlemen unfortunatley this aircraft isnt equipped with Live-2-Air :o" Haha, i got that a few times on VUO, VOX and VBU :D

I flew NTL-MEL recently on DJ and utilised the Live2Air and thought it was great. It would be even better on longer sectors especially your PER flights ex the east coast. The units looked a bit dated but the selection of channels was excellent.

I heard somewhere that DJ were not going to be making money from them as each unit weighed ~7kgs and the extra fuel burn in putting that much weight in 150+ seat negated any revenue. Is this correct? I believe they were hoping it would attract more pax to their service and add to their "new world carrier" argument.

It would be strange if they phased it out after all the work that was put in to making it available. Surely the new aircraft should just get updated units like on Virgin America, hopefully these would weight less and make it more viable.

last time I was on a VB plane with Live 2 Air in July from CNS-SYD the L2A didn't work properly for anyone after they payed for it, so they refunded everyones money and put it on free mode. It worked with out any trouble for the remainder of the flight.
