From the video's I have seen, the flaps and slats were out. Remember the dreamliner flaps are different to other aircraft.
There was a video of the aircraft before it crashed, no engine noise however you could hear the RAT (Ram Air Turbine)
The other video showing it taking off on the runway does not show any smoke or flames coming from the engines, which would explain FOD ingestion.
My conclusion is that a pilot MAY have on purpose turned both engines off. Easy to do.
The fuel handles were pulled, causing the fuel shutoff valve to actuate and starve the engine of fuel.
Massive electrical failure causing the shut off valves to shut.
Both engines were clearly not running in the video I have seen prior to crashing.
