pretty sure QF1 , also diverted to Azerbaijan about 2-3 yrs ago , due a tech issue , or smoke alarm in cargo ?
so not the 1st time the QF A380 has been there . |

Laurent, according to FlightAware the A380, OQB arrived in GYD at 7:56 local time on Monday morning 9/6/25 and departed GYD at 18:25 on Tuesday 10/6/25. It arrived in SYD via SIN at 19:21 on Wednesday 11/6/25 as QF2D, nearly 38.5 hours late.
The A380 tech crew and possibly the cabin crew would have been out of flight hours if they had departed Baku after the sick passenger was taken to hospital, as LHR to SIN is a long 14 hour flight made even longer as this flight overflew GYD and had to fly back there, so the crew and other passengers were accommodated in hotels in Baku. |
