Default United with 2nd daily DEC/JAN

United comes with a 2nd daily B744 Service ( 01DEC10-31JAN11 )

UA827 LAX-SYD 2100-0635+2
UA826 SYD-LAX 1230-0700

I am a little suprised with this news considering how many airlines operate this route. (3 direct, plus 2 non direct come to mind)
United must be doing something right?

Given that period is when the planes normally go out chokcers with very high prices, it could also be a tactic to prevent competitors having such high prices and therefore making the route even less profitable...

UA 827/826 only operates Daily from 3/12/10 to 10/1/11 ex SYD. It operates on days 1,3,6 from 12/1/11 to 31/1/11 ex SYD.
