American is withdrawing B767's as B787's are delivered. There seems to be abundant numbers of used B767's going into storage.
Why are ex-QF B767 in such high demand? Based on the fact that there is only one of the OG? series yet to find a home. Is it, low time, low cycles, quality engineering ... Does anyone know ? |

Many of them would certainly be relatively low cycle (for their age and given some spent most of their time on either international and/or PER/DRW/CNS runs) and QF aircraft have long been in demand for the way they're maintained. I can't speak to low time because I've no clue, although I can't imagine they're any lower on time relative to any other airline's 767s.

zxe 55k hours and 33k cycles ZK- NCL 87k and 15k cycles Of course we have no idea at price each aircraft went for, so it's all somewhat moot. I am sure it gives considerable satisfaction to the men and women who worked on the planes while they are in service, to know their work ensures an aircraft continues to fly even in its "old" age. |

The 60 minutes special on VH-OGG stated it had more than 27k cycles when it departed Australia for the last time.
