We thought it was amusing that the callsign of the next flight behind BOE787 on the run down to Melbourne this morning was VOZ787...

Just landed on 16L. That's a nice change!

Tried to catch it going over my place but caught out by 16L landing unfortunately!

For those wishing to photograph it tonight or tomorrow throughout the day, is it still parked by the fence at Ross Smith Ave, near Krispy Kreme, foot of runway 25 area-ish? Thanks.

Managed to get a shot of it flying over my place, the distinctive low growl of the Trent 1000 plus the inimitable HID light pattern gave it away. Nothing too spectacular, there's only so much one can do with a 250mm lens, no tripod and high ISO levels...that 16L approach caught me off guard too.

Exclamation Great work

Well done, James - that second one was what I was trying for too, but from a bit closer at Wrights Point!

Thumbs down Autofocus

Don't those mesh fences play havoc with autofocus!

seems strange that they gave it 16L. But in that case I flew right over me. I noticed the strobes lights are very...robotic or possibly futuristic; i don't know how to describe it. Anyone else know what I'm talking about?
