The 747 was repaired at a reported cost of $10 million and returned to service last November. Would that be correct??? |

So, what's the definition of an " emergency " landing?
I thought it was the dire and imminent need to put the aircraft on the ground.

Exactly. I think they're purtier than than any of the Roller Powered 744's just as the OG series seventy sixers are better looking than the ZX series.
BTW, is 18 years "old" for a 744? I know there are many circumstances involved in determining an Airframes lifetime but I don't think 18 years is old for these birds at all. (Almost all of the flights are longhaul as well) |

Yeah exactly. Wouldn't this one be more of a precautionary landing?

Well age is determined by cycles with aircraft isn't it? Time in the air is almost pointless right?

OJF
OJK OEC OED OGA OGB OGC OGD Eight aircraft to be retired. I imagine OGD would have the most wear out of the four 763's as it has been operating alot more shorter domestic flights than the other three. So it is going, new colours and all... lol. |

Mods, there were a few other posts in this thread which have disapeared, no doubt as the conversation had drifted, IMO I don't think it went that far for them to be deleted.
Indeed have a quick look at the posts above this and you will see the conversation is still going down a similar track, ie discussion of retirement of aircraft other than the one in question and ugly aircraft. |
