Apart from us enthusiasts I doubt Joe public would even know the difference unless two aircraft were park side by side. N
Which begs the question, why spend $5M+ to craft a new logo that is so similar to the old that no one can pick it? Hans Hulbosch has done very well out of Australian airlines designing liveries that are hardly earth shattering.

Some wags would suggest that QF are loathe to strip back the paint on the old 763s and 734s as the paint maybe the only thing holding them together

The reason is simple. The old logo did not fit on the A380's properly.

Talking

i was under the impression that the A380 had a few airlines needing to make livery/logo mods to fit it and/or make it fill up the massive space?

I.e. Singapore making their name titles larger, qantas modifying the roo

I don't think that calls for a "lets completely redesign the livery" just for the occaison!!??

They didn't completely redesign the livery. The just modified the roo to fit better, if I recall the problem was the legs of the roo if they used the old version would have gone through a no paint area on the A380 and thus look disjointed.

So the livery upgrade is a minor refresh with no need to change at a break neck speed.

Default New Velocity Cards

I notice they have new Velocity cards now, but no word yet on Platinum status or how many status points needed to gain / maintain. Wish they would hurry up and re launch.

It looks like the A330's have started the MEL-PER-MEL service (unless it's just a one off for today).

XFB is scheduled to fly DJ688/DJ697.
