Unusual flight path
Hi all, I have just noticed Qantas 63 to Johannesburg flying directly over my house at penirith and then flying directly to Katoomba. I have never seen this flight take this route before as I believe it should be over 100km further south than this. Can anybody please tell me why it took this bizarre route today.
Thanks |

There's quite a bit of thunderstorm build up going on right now...perhaps it was to scoot to the north of that first?

It looks to be taking a far more northerly route than usual, currently near Adelaide. Looks like it will pass just to the south of Perth.
Must be avoiding a jet stream or something in the Southern Ocean.

Was QF64 diverted yesterday due to the weather?
