Hi All

Linked document updates CASA standards on EDTO (Extended Diversion Time Operations), to align with ICAO Annex 6. From 1 July 2015 operators may apply for EDTO >240 and, significantly, polar operations may be approved subject to the operator demonstrating to CASA that it has appropriate procedures etc in place.

Good news in the context of LAN commencing 787 operations and looking for additional frequencies... good news in general, really!

Cheers

Thanks for the update!

As I understand these procedures apply only to Australian operators, so LAN, being registered in Chile, would be governed by their local aviation regulatory body when it comes to ETOPS/EDTO.

Ahhh okay, I didn't realise that. Makes sense given some of the language in the CAAP.
