Hi All
Linked document updates CASA standards on EDTO (Extended Diversion Time Operations), to align with ICAO Annex 6. From 1 July 2015 operators may apply for EDTO >240 and, significantly, polar operations may be approved subject to the operator demonstrating to CASA that it has appropriate procedures etc in place. http://www.casa.gov.au/wcmswr/_asset...s/ops/82_1.pdf Good news in the context of LAN commencing 787 operations and looking for additional frequencies... good news in general, really! Thanks for the update!
As I understand these procedures apply only to Australian operators, so LAN, being registered in Chile, would be governed by their local aviation regulatory body when it comes to ETOPS/EDTO. |

Ahhh okay, I didn't realise that. Makes sense given some of the language in the CAAP.
