All new deliveries from next month will now be fitted with leather seats/mood lighting.
Not sure if they will change the current cabin's. For deliveries from March, so VH-VNO coming this March could be the first.

I am presuming that (p)leather seats and mood lighting are cheaper to maintain over the life of the aircraft than cloth and fluro lights? Or is the mood lighting so they can turn the cabin a nice blue to calm the anger of those who have been waiting hours for their $39 one way flight to the Gold Coast? ;)

-VNO is ex- 9V-TAL msn4053, which although fairly new has been operating for Tiger (TR, atleast) since early October (9V-TAM and -TAN have also since been delivered and both regulars in Perth. FWIW, -TAN is Tigers first wholly owned a/c)

new finance agreements have been signed

TT have a tendency to shuffle planes between singapore and australia dependant upon demand - go back to 319's - originally destined for australia went to singapore.......... so perhaps a little hard to guess where planes will go........
I would think that whatever JQ is going to do with new routes, example Brisbane, talk of darwin and I bet more frequency to Sydney, and with the rumour of TT going to AVV and JQ maybe moving all operations to Tullamarine, will have a bearing on where TT planes go......to try and combat JQ and also DJ, both of whom are really driving nails into TT.....
The worry is that from "others" we hear TT has planes parked due to minimal passenger loads...... be it as a result of poor frequency, route or simply no pax......... they really have to getv their act up and running with the new planes

Does this look like poor load factors and i doubt whether they are copping a bashing from JQ-DJ, also the talk is only some of the Tiger fleet will be based at AVV if a deal is struck ?
I would also say that having a airline that is flexible with their fleet and move them around to where the greatest need is,makes good business sense.
Tiger Airways reports strong growth in passengers and loads in February

TIGER Airways Holdings Ltd has reported strong growth in passenger numbers and an improvement in load factors for February.
Tiger carried 437,000 passengers in February this year, up about 90 per cent from the 230,000 it carried the same month 12 months ago, the Singapore-based airline said in a statement today.
Load factors, which measure the number of passengers as a percentage of total seats available, rose to 85 per cent in February, from 79 per cent the same month a year ago.
Tiger president and chief executive Tony Davis said the airline's low-cost, low-fare model was attracting "significantly higher numbers of passengers from across the region".
"We are delighted to report that our strong growth momentum has continued in February," Mr Davis said in a statement.
"We are confident that consumers in Asia and Australia will continue to respond positively as we focus our efforts on further reducing our operating costs and offering even lower fares."
The five-year-old airline recently took delivery of its 19th aircraft, an Airbus A320.
The airline is also due to start flying from Brisbane to Melbourne, Adelaide and Rockhampton this month.
Tiger, which operates to 33 destinations in 11 countries, hopes to increase its fleet to 65 planes by 2015.
In the 12 months to February, Tiger carried 4.708 million passengers, up 51 per cent from the prior corresponding period.
Mr Davis said at the company's December quarter earnings, released last month, showed Tiger's Australian operations had been profitable for two successive quarters.
Tiger began flying in Australia in November 2007, based from Melbourne's Tullamarine Airport and Adelaide.

I've never gotten a definitive yes or no about mood lighting.

your misreporting the amount of seats in the aircraft...
let me rephrase that for you expert................
of the 180 seats, a row of 3 seats is set aside (if bookings allow) for crew to rest on their longer flights eg: perth........
The airline operates a single-model fleet consisting of Airbus A320 aircraft powered by IAE V2500 engines. All aircraft offer single-class economy seating for 180 seats each. The seat pitch is approximately 72.5 cm for standard rows and 97.5 cm for extra leg room and exit rows.[23]

Should alleviate a major source of what appears to be complaints against TT..the check in desk...
Looks like they are going to take it right up to Jetstar in the battle for the "budget dollar" now that DJ has all but said that it will somewhere down the track become full service carrier, particularly when it it trying to snare the Government contracts from QF......
Also, with the impending additional TT flights out of AVV it will be interesting how JQ counters this......perhaps extra capacity if and when the new planes come on line or in fact, JQ totally pulls out of AVV and floods capacity out of MEL.

Haven't seen this said anywhere....

Perhaps intepretation Greg.....
With DJ going after the Government contracts, would think that full service to business end of plane would be a major consideration...
Otherwise, can you see a Senior Advisor sitting at the back of the plane with a tin of pringles and a can of coke??
