Default Standing room only?

Ryanair is doing its best to cram passengers in even more .. erm I mean make flying more affordable... with new vertical seats... The seats remind me of theme park rides - those are definitely fun, but far from comfortable!

If O'Leary could find a way of strapping people to the wings to make more money he would...

Only Ryanair would come up with this - it will be interesting if a design can be made and it can comply with all safety standards..

One of the advantages of seats is the space to fit bags under the seat, and obviously the overhead bins. You couldn't have people standing with the current overhead bins - they would have to be removed or reduced as well. I pity anyone sitting in front of them who needs the overhead bins for thier bags!

Default Ryanair

Like the story about charging to use the toilet, I think this one is just a media stunt.

I doubt it will happen.

It doesn't meet CURRENT air safety requirements.

Regulations only get changed through innovation and through need, and so far no-one has seriously tried it.

I wouldn't think the fact that it currently isn't allowed is enough of a reason for it not to happen.

That said - I wouldn't do it. What happens when you divert? 5 or 6 hours of standing non stop? No thanks.
