Default Air Asia adds Paris

Hi there

Air Asia has announced to start of Kuala Lumpar - Paris (Orly) flights from Feb 14 2011, although it appears to be a one class aircraft as i was able to select seats in row 2 for a flight in March, despite Premium sleeper seats being on sale on this flight.

Also next destinations are Jeddah & Christchurch, although these are not yet available for sale.

Is the CHC flight a tag leg from OOL or MEL or a direct flight from KUL?

Cheers
Anthony T

Anthony,

The CHC flight will be direct from KUL, I've heard.

I sure hope it's direct, I neec to get back to Christchurch for my graduation from university, instead of going through Melbourne as booked.

Will chrischurch, if direct have to be an A340?

The flight details haven't been announced yet; there is no schedules as of now, so anything could happen. Media has been reporting that it will be direct, but that's only speculation.

Default Yes...

I congratulate Air Asia for adding or considering these new routes. Very cool. I thoroughly support Air Asia, they have done an amazing job and I loved my ride to London this year... HOWEVER... be careful with the regular fares at the moment from Australia... whilst Air Asia are ultimately Lo-Co, once you add a modest amount of baggage and a Nasi Lemak to their regular fares (when those amazing internet specials aren't there), you will find that other Asian airlines are now regularly cheaper on many runs to Asia... eg. Royal Brunei. Just worth considering when you're seated 9 in each row on an A330, hungry and watching a fly crawl up the wall when you have nothing to look at. Just do your comparison homework, that's all I'm saying.

Can agree with that Joe, paid just over $800 return to HKG on Royal Brunei last month and you get full service. Yes it is a dry airline in terms of alcohol, and as long as you can put up with a transit it what a sub standard transit lounge all is fine, apart from the transits I found the experience more than acceptable.

Cheers

Michael

Hi there

I have upgraded a KUL-STN flight in feb 2011 for $176, you can request an upgrade as soon as you book your Y ticket, if the upgrade doesn't come thru, you get your money back.

$176 is pretty good for a 14hr flight in a flatbed J class style seat, you also get the meals and comfort pack thrown in.

Details on the upgrades available here : https://www.optiontown.com/
