Latest Dash 8-400 for Qantaslink, VH-LQB, arrived in SYD early yesterday morning and departed early this morning. It is now on descent to SYD.

Had a quick look inside her tonight, the lighting is different (I wanted to see the mood lighting but could not work it out), the LED's are found on the wall, from the overhead and above the windows so it creates a brighter cabin. Windows and Overhead lockers are different, but really not much has changed. Lockers are larger, which means my backpack won't get its straps stuck all the time. Noticed a few softer panels in the aircraft to prevent you from gaining a nasty lump from when you knock your head. Also, good news for marshallers, the silver tube right where you place the chocks under and have to miss to avoid injury when you stand up seems to have been replaced by a smaller, black instrument. I think it has been moved back slightly aswell. Have not had a chance to fly in her yet, hopefully I will get to though.

It crashed right after takeoff and was destroyed by flames, killing 2 crew. Hope this doesn't happen to the present LQB!

Oh. Well that explains it then. Do registrations often get recycled after something like that happens?
