Hi ALL,

Thanks Rowan.

Does that now mean QF have only 6 734 in the fleet?

Stuart

TJL departed SYD as QF6027 at around 0620L and is currently just out of APW... after a little over an hour on the ground it will continue to HNL.

I suppose as the new 737NG (XZF) arrive then the older "Joeys" can be put out to pasture.

I flew SYD-BNE-ROK last week on a VA 738 with the Boeing Sky Interior and was very impressed with the new classy look Virgin has in their cabins now. My non aviation enthusiast colleague commented on the "mood lighting".

We came back with QF and the BNE-SYD leg was on a 734 and the difference is astonishing. It's hard to believe they are both 737s. Boeing has done an amazing job with the interiors on the old bird. Nether the less, I was glad to get what could possibly be my last flight in a -400 so enjoyed it from that perspective.

Another highlight was my first ever ride on a 717 so an interesting trip all round.

Well it looks like 717's will be what allows Qantas to eventually put the 734's to bed.

Interior wise yet to fly on a Qantas BSI but have flown Malaysian and found it quite nice. It does really age the older 737's including the older 738's that Qantas flies. Their interiors are not too different from the 734's, even the customer service modules on TJZ are very similar, if not identical to the early 738's.

Will miss the 734's when they are gone, have flown many a flight in them. Got two flights this Wednesday to Sydney and back (to Canberra).

The 738s will end the 734s, the 737 fleet is getting redeployed because of the 717s, not replaced!!
