Saturday Afternoon Cross Wind At YSSY
With the wind swing between 230 and 270 degrees and reaching 28Kts, some of the approaches to Runway 34 Left on Saturday afternoon were interesting. One aircraft actually requested a 16Right departure but there was little interest from the tower. Holding the camera in the crosswind was also challenging.
A Qantas B737-800 having a go. UPS MD-11 N252UP working hard, we can see the starboard side of the aircraft from the beach. UPS MD-11 N252UP demonstrates a good cross wind technique. Virgin Blue B737 and again we could see the starboard side of the aircraft. A Qantas B767 absolutely nose onto the beach. Another QF B767 with probably a little more cross wind than the rest.
