Default Flying to Phuket

Some relatives are going Adelaide to Phuket in late April.

Flight connections are not a problem, the priority is good service and an enjoyable flight at a reasonable cost.

Who should they fly with?

What about Visas?

If the priority is good service & not fastest way there try V Australia via MEL or BNE.

http://www.smarttraveller.gov.au has information on the visa's - most Australian tourists don't need a visa for short stays.

I'd definitely go V Australia - plus the fares are good. But don't make the mistake of booking a route via PER, that is a Pacific Blue 737, a very different proposition to a V Australia 777!!!!

Jetstar via SYD

Went there in Aug, from Bne to Syd then up on Jetstar. Return Hkt/Syd/Bne
Service from Jetstar was spot on, prepaid for food etc. Crew exceeded what I have had on full cost airlines. Mind you the crew were looking forward to 3 days in Phuket, so they were happy to be on board.

As a Au passbook holder we did not need visas, just had to fill out cards handed out for arrival which also had departure info that had to be filled in.
The depatrure section was stapled into passbook and was used on way out.
If you were to stay 30 or more days then a visa was needed.
Long wait to get thru passbook control on arrival.

Going back again soon but wife wants to go direct from Bne using V.
In talking to others up there , they came via a lot of different ways, SIN,HKG,BKK,KUL etc.

Great place for a holiday, if you can get used to being asked all the time "does sir want a suit, or tuk tuk or taxi or CDees or massage.

MH is the most direct, but maybe not the cheapest.
VB/VA is a good trip on the 777 via MEL, probably a bit cheaper than MH, but not by much and only once a week.
SQ maybe the best to HKT from ADL
If money is no object try QF to SIN then TG.

Then there is the rest.
