A quick question if I may, and thank you in advance for your answers.
When a plane is due for a D check but it has had one ( or more) engines replaced previously with a newer engine are all the engines treated the same in the D check or does that replacement engine always have a different maintenance schedule for the rest of the planes life? |

Each engine has a different maintenance schedule with the exception on A checks where all engines on all jets are done at the same time. A engine may or may not have inspections/component replacements.

It has been common practice for airlines to pull a new engine and replce it with one from another aircraft.If an aircraft had to have a double engine change Eg 737 that would require a test flight..

Another question on Aircraft checks,
How often are the different levels of checks take place? i was supprised to read in another thread that Wunalla dreaming was going in for it;s first d check. |

It all works on hours/cycles and aircraft has done so OEJ was delivered in 2003 so it has taken 6 and half years to get its cycles to have its first D check being a long haul aircraft it would be a low cycle (cycle being a one sector a take and then a landing) high hour aircraft, Vs your domestic B737 'taxi cab' which would be high cycle low hours. |
