Default Air Force One: Las Vegas

President Obama was in Las Vegas on Thursday and Friday. Attached are some photos taken from my office window of Air Force One departing Las Vegas on Friday afternoon.

Las Vegas airport is extremely busy and has very frequent movements on all four runways. However, for the departure of Air Force One, all take offs and landings were suspended and even planes on the taxiways had to halt for several minutes immediately before and after take off.

Anyway, I hope you enjoy the photos. Please excuse the picture quality.

The backup plane went to Nellis Air Force Base in northern Las Vegas I believe. A C5 (??) military plane arrived at Las Vegas airport on Wednesday and unloaded the motorcade cars from the nose of the plane which was interesting to watch. It was still there tonight when I left work. Air Force One is also refuelled from jet fuel brought in by military jets, not from the commercial fuel at the airport.
