Default Luxury jet transforms into room with a view

From News.com.au:

A NEW aircraft design featuring an "air deck" and aiming to provide the ultimate travel experience for those seeking five-star luxury even while roughing it has been criticised by travellers.
The Avro Business Jet Explorer, believed to be a first in aviation history, has a platform which - once the plane has landed - transforms the rear of the aircraft into a living space with open-air views.

The viewing deck can be pulled back in with the flick of a switch so that the jet can easily take off to its next destination.

Designed by companies BAE Systems and Design Q, the jet able to land on short runways and uneven landing strips, delivering passengers into wilderness areas.

However only those with a spare $26.5 million will be able to buy the plane.

It can accommodate eight passengers and crew, as well as two pilots.

At 30.5 metres, the plane is being built in the UK, and the interiors can be modified to suit individual buyers.

..“I believe these products will have enormous appeal to owners and operators who are looking for the ultimate luxury travel experience,” Gary Doy, Owner and Director of Design Q said.

However some travellers aren't as optimistic about the design.

"Yeah, obviously not a well thought out plan. You won't see anything from the runway, and how about the lovely smell of jet exhaust lingering around," traveller Marbran said.

Meanwhile commenter Bobby said: "To the left you see the airport hanger and now folks for an even more exciting view, if you look to the right you see the beauty of the wing of the aeroplane and the large engines.. ah the wonders of nature."

The concept was unveiled at the European Business Aviation Convention and Exhibition show in Geneva earlier this month.
