Default Gate 47 - Terminal 2 - Sydney

I was wondering where is Gate 47 at Sydney Airport. I have looked on there website and on their terminal maps there is no Gate 47.

I am curious because my flights to Sydney on Tuesday are scheduled to arrive and depart from this gate.

Oliver who are you flying with? Is it Rex, QantasLink or Aeropelican? Not gate 42 is it? Because im pretty sure Gate 47 is over on the Jetstar side.

Im pretty sure its over on the JQ side but does it really matter Oliver? As long as you get to T2 you should be right regardless of gate, right?

There isn't an aircraft gate 47 at Sydney as such, but the Bay 42 that Tim refers to is the 'arrival' gate for bussing ops, and gate 45 and 47 are the 'departure' gates located in the same area. There's also a new bussing gate located at the end of the eastern T2 finger next to Bay 39/40, so perhaps that's where Gate 47 is?

Make sense? Sorry if it doesn't, but that's how it was explained to me and I don't spend time in the terminal to describe it otherwise.

EDIT: I should point out that Bays F4 and F5 on the eastern side of Dom-3 are now available for B737/E170/E190/A320 ops, so going from Gate 47 tells me you'll be bussed to your aircraft.

G47 is the Rex/Aeropelican bus bay - stairs down to the ground level are just west of the food court.

EDIT: Just read Nigel's post properly (for once).

Looks like that happened while I was on leave! I really should pay attention more.

You too, eh? I'm on my first shift back from leave now and that change happened while I was gone too. The things they do when you're not looking....

Oliver, I recommend the check in desk & when you are issued with your boarding pass, query it then. The people at the Virgin Blue desk would be able to point you in the right direction

Don't be too concerned...I'm sure the terminal has plenty of signage for it.
