Hi, Heavy rain and low cloud at OOL at 11am. VUW did 3 go arounds then diverted to BNE. VUY went into a holding pattern on approach to BNE. VQS from Queenstown then did a go around. VUR from MEL made it in on it's first attempt, followed closely by VQS on it's 2nd time lucky. VUI departed amongst this.

EBC did two go arounds and diverted to BNE, as well as VBD. Has just ferried back to OOL. VUW and VBD didn't come back.

VUR's pilots must of been good to get it on the first approach :P. On January 1st there was extremely bad weather, we were in a holding pattern for 20 minutes, sequence 4 to land only 1 made it, all rest were virtually diverted apart from us, VH-VQN and VH-ZPI.

Why isn't an ILS installed on runway 14 at Gold Coast Airport? Could one operate with the dog leg approach over Burleigh Heads?

Even though OOL isn't dominated by adverse weather conditions, it would still be great if runway 14/32 received ILS. |

There isn't (I couldn't find) any provision for an ILS to be installed in the Gold Coast Airport Master Plan.

14 will never have an ILS. The big hill on approach is the problem.
