Yes, at T3 there is the QANTAS Heritage collection, located adjacent gate 13, it has a great view of the intl terminal, T2 West Pier, and runway 16r, as well as more. (Only open weekdays).

Can you get into the domestic terminal (airside) if you are not a passenger. I know you used to be able to but i'm not sure if you still can. Also what sort of results can you get from the Qantas Heritage collection.

Yes you can go airside without being a passenger for both domestic terminals. Just need to go through security, but that is it.

The QF Heritage Collection area is great, particularly when they are using 16R.

Virgin Atlantic A340-600 (G-VYOU) taking og 34L enroute to Hong Kong

My ALL-TIME Favourite Livery, ETD A346 (A6-EHJ) t/o 34L to OMAA, i flew this plane back in 2009 to YSSY, very special plane (FINALLY GOT HER AGAIN!!)

If in T2 go to the very end of the ?pier? where most of the QLink Dash 8s depart from. If runway 34L is in use for departures you will have heavies rotating right in front of you!! When I was there last our flight with QLink was delayed 30 minutes so we went and sat up there (Very quiet first thing in the morning) and saw an Emirates A380, Singapore Airlines A380 and a United 747 take off one after the other, was a good day.

Nice photos. Are they taken behind a window or in the open. Thanks.

unfortunately, behind a window . It is still good though (for photography, dort of) as the windows are flat, and have a great view of the Airport
