Default Thai Airways A380 headed for Sydney, as London drops off the list

From ausbt.com.au
Quote:
Thai Airways will commence a daily Airbus A380 service between Sydney and Bangkok in early 2013.

The airline, which takes delivery of the first of six superjumbos this week, had previously hoped London would join Frankfurt, Tokyo and Paris on the A380's official route map.

Thai Airways will formally announce the new route tomorrow. However, a spokesperson for Thai Airways confirmed to Australian Business Traveller today that Sydney, rather than London, will get the fourth factory-fresh A380.

Thai's A380 will carry 507 passengers in first, business and economy class.
Australian Business Traveller is at Airbus HQ in Toulouse, France, this week for the handover of Thai's first A380 and the delivery flight back to Bangkok.

Thai Airways hasn't yet revealed the specific start date, but it's pegged to the delivery of Thai's fourth factory-fresh A380.
