Default QF 767 Hobart/Melbourne this Sunday

I'm booked on a QF 767 service from HBA to MEL this Sunday afternoon. I've only ever seen a QF 767 at HBA once before. Does anyone know why this would be? Qantas usually let their flights fly 100% full rather than put larger aircraft on when it comes to their HBA services.

Thanks Bernie, I think you're right. The only other time I've seen a QF 763 in Hobart also had something to do with the cricket.

There's another 767 on HBA/MEL on 19/12, followed by two scheduled appearances on QF1020 on 21 and 24 Jan.

It would be great to see more of the 763's and reverse that ridiculous decision to use a Q400 for the early morning and evening high yielding flights. Talk about handing business pax over to DJ on a silver platter!

In the mid 90s there used to be a daily 762 on HBA-MEL!

763s are scheduled for peak times for events like the cricket and over summer

The Sri Lankan cricket team is in Canberra at the moment for a warm up match. They are due to fly out Sunday via Melbourne to Hobart. Both flights are going to be on the 763. Aircraft to Canberra is QF814 -> QF763 and then QF1015 to Hobart iirc.

But a couple of more 763 movements to Canberra to accommodate the cricket...

The West Indies cricket team have the PM's xi match in Canberra on January 29th, then on the 30th they fly put for Perth on QF719 which is going to be upgraded to a 763. Aircraft for this flight is coming in from Melbourne is QF834. February 4th QF718 is upgraded again to a 763 to accommodate the windies team to Canberra. Aircraft will overnight and operate QF872 on February 5 at this stage. The windies then head to Sydney but I think this could be by coach.

Alex.
