ADLSIN also going from 10 to 12 per week. Anyone would think SQ are gunning for EK/QF!

^ they are, but I am not sure why...QF is only withdrawing it's flights from SIN to Europe and will continue flying to the island with the 744/A333 daily from MEL and SYD. How many travellers stopped in SIN ex LHR/FRA? not too many I'd guess.

Maybe not, but how many people (not just Australians) chose SQ and others over QF. What I'm getting from SQ's current Aussie expansion is they're trying to keep it that way by offering absolutely as many convenient connections over SIN to Europe and elsewhere as they can, given that's what QF/EK will have in DXB.

could never be as convenient as EK given the presence EK has in Europe. Most SQ passengers will have to transit via FRA in order to fly to the destinations EK already puts a/c to.

Though I am not sure how long the new service will last...you have 2 flights to SIN within 2hrs of each other and the newest one doesn't really offer any connections to Europe at all...with the exception of perhaps CPH, DME, and ZRH.

Montague, What SQ-208 from Melbourne & SQ-242 from Sydney Offer is the FASTEST way of getting to LONDON, They Connect in Singapore with SQ-306 and it offers the Shortest Time, Better than QANTAS via DUBAI by just on an Hour and I would rather fly SIngapore Airlines any day of the week over QANTAS.
