Five helicopters descended on Warriewood headland after a paraglider crashed on the cliff face this afternoon. The accident happened around 3:30pm, but
because the paraglided was hanging from a vertical cliff face, it was after 6pm before the patient was stabilized and transported to hospital. Chopper images are from our balcony, 620m from the cliff face. ![]() The Westpac chopper had a close up look first, but because of the paragliders location, waited for assistance from the two NSW Ambulance Service choppers. Paramedics abseiled from the clifftop down to the patient. ![]() NSW Ambulance Service MBB-BK 117 C-2 VH-SYG makes a low approach over our house to the headland location. ![]() VH-SYG hovering over the accident scene. ![]() VH-SYG departs the cliff top for Warriewood Beach, to pick up the patient after he was lowered from the cliff face. ![]() The Channel 9 AS350 VH-TCN with video camera fitted to the rear fuselage. ![]() Channel 7 AS355 VH-SEV appears to be using similar video equipment, however they have the camera fitted under the nose. ![]() ![]()
