Default Send in the clowns

I caught up with a friend today who had just returned from living in Paris for 3 months. When I showed her a pictutre of her Asiana aircraft at Sydney Airport when she left (Dec 29th), she commented that that was taken before the clowns came out. At one point on the SYD-ICN leg the cabin crew appeared dressed as clowns and proceeded to perform typical clown/magic acts, choosing a passenger to be their assistant. They repeated the performance in each cabin. The experience was not to be repeated on any other leg of the outward or return journey. I had read reviews that Asiana's cabin service was good - nobody ever mentioned clowns.

I did hear Asiana was going to do something like this, but I thought it was only for the northern hemisphere summer and for only a few weeks on select flights.

In the larger Korean aviation landscape, some of the new start-ups like Jeju and Eastar Jet have done these types of gimmicks. Jeju does balloon art and lets you take photos with crazy wigs they have. Eastar takes photos (no props last time I was on one of their flights) and also has a competition where if your beverage cup has a star on the bottom you win a flight voucher.
