Thats the plan. There will be extra flying for the 73H fleet which will take up some of the slack.

The 332s returning from JQ would also fill the capacity although it represents a significant increase in seats (303 on the 332s vs 252 on the B763s).

VH-OGK departed this morning (Friday) from SYD to VCV as QF 6017.

The duration between retirement and the ferry flight for OGK was relatively short compared to OGG.

Once they get good at it, (fast) they will run out of planes.

OGK wasn't covered in 'Planes' logos, so that may have something to do with it.

Not quite Zac. It is sched to do some domestic sectors SYD-MEL on Fri 12.
It is then due to fly to Alice Springs on the following Friday.

Is this the first aircraft to arrive at the Australian A/C storage facility?

Ok, so changed again...or the info wasn't passed through correctly to me :P

There's actually a few there, there was a couple of Network E120s which have since departed, there is 9V-TRA/B (Tigerair A319s) as well as 9V-TRO (Tigerair A320) and an Our Airline (I think VH-INU) Boeing 737-300.

Not quite Fred. Tigerair A319's 9V-TRA, 9V-TRB & TigerAir A320 9V-TRO, Our Airline B737-300 VH-INU are already stored there. There was a former Network E120 there, bu that has departed the country.

I believe -OGR and it's 3 international siblings might be WestJet bound, but another source quotes them as earlier build airframes so not 100% certain.

QF Source is reporting that

September 12, 2014

QANTAS Boeing 767-338ER VH-OGR was withdrawn from service at Sydney this evening after arriving as QF462 from Melbourne. This brings the Boeing 767-300ER passenger fleet down to nine aircraft.
