Five to be deployed on specific central Australian fly in fly out routes;
Up to 18 to service Alliance’s wet lease contract;
Two aircraft for dry lease;
Three aircraft to cover base maintenance checks;
Four aircraft for additional expansionary opportunities.

Departed SJO for BRO again at 10.47 and after a fuel stop is now due in US West Coast, appears around SFO soon. Flight Aware is NOT friendly again with no destination shown.

hey Greg, remember the routing was different this time it did not go from SJO to HNL in one day, took a day via Brownsville to Oakland, o/night, and then only to HNL next day so was able to leave HNL much earlier than usual.

Since the ferry crew is probably QQ they may have extra crew members onboard the SXI didn't use (ie: minimum). More crew and less crew rest breaks and faster ferry times.

Travellers can now take advantage of a direct connection between Adelaide and Townsville with Qantas’ new flights between the two cities launching today.

The airline’s first flight from Adelaide arrives in Townsville Airport this afternoon, marked with celebrations for customers at the gate at each airport.

QantasLink will operate three weekly return flights with Embraer E190 regional jet aircraft, delivering more than 550 seats on the route each week.

The E190s were introduced to QantasLink’s network in May as part of the airline’s new agreement with Alliance Airlines. With its size, range and economics, the 94-seat jet has opened up a number of new routes that wouldn’t have been viable with Qantas’ existing fleet, including three new routes from Townsville and four from Adelaide.

QantasLink CEO John Gissing said with no other airline currently operating between the two cities, the flights will save more than two hours in travel time on a round trip instead of flying via other cities.

“We know that Australians are eager to travel again, and these new flights open up a direct connection between Adelaide and Townsville just in time for the school holidays,” said Mr Gissing.

“Adelaide has been very popular with travellers over the past year with its culture, entertainment and as a gateway to Australia’s world-famous wine regions.

“These flights will help drive more visitors to Townsville which will help local businesses in their recovery from the impact of COVID.

“Our customers and frequent flyers will enjoy our premium service on these new flights, whether its complimentary food and drinks, baggage or access to lounges in Adelaide and Townsville.”

Qantas is currently offering sale fares on the route from $179 one way for travel between October 2021 and March 2022, available until Saturday 25 September, unless sold out prior.

VH-UYY is doing the third ADL/TSV/ADL flight today, scheduled on 135.

It was mentioned (months ago) that the F50's would be retired and taken over by the F70/100s.

Seeing that the only QF E190 schedule out of ADL now is ADL/TSV/ADL on 135, started last Monday, they have NO other work. The ADL/ASP/ADL is now a Daily 738 and only VA and JQ are doing ADL/DRW/ADL. The 2 based in Darwin are sharing DRW/ASP/DRW Daily ex Sun in the morning and Daily ex Sat in the late afternoon.

N901QQ has been seen at Brisbane today, all white, together with N926QQ, (Alliance livery) now marked as VH-UYU. (advice from a friend). Hopefully that might appear on the CASA list tomorrow. That leaves UYP or R for N901QQ. The last 3 to come from the Copa fleet, HP1557CMP, 1559 and 1560 should be VH UYE, UYI and UYJ.

N954UW which was registered VH-XVQ on 23/9 has not been moved since it arrived and does not have XVQ on yet. The 2 Helvetic 190's have not had a test flight yet

I note above there is some talk about Air North leasing another E190? I have a question - on Septeber 8th Southern Cross ferried an E190 from Manilla to Perth. Interesting change of Aircraft yesterday. For some time now VH-UYB and UYO have been based in Darwin flying for QF. Yesterday both did QQ flights. Before checking the map of North America I thought that Brownville was a long way east of the direct track from SJO to OAK, but Mexico and the other countries in Central America are south east of California, not south. In fact, SJO is on the same latitude as the Florida pan-handle. So, BRO is not too far out of the way, especially when travelling to northern California.

I have been looking at the VH-XV? regos again. So I have worked out what I think the AA ones will be. There are 17 marks available but only 16 are needed.

I will run through the last 10 from N951UW to N967UW to start with and not the first 6 which are N944UW, 945, 946, 947, 948 and 950.

So we know that 954 is VH-XVQ. So here goes:-
N967UW - XVZ, N965UW - XVY, N963UW - XVX, N961UW - XVU, N959UW - XVT, N955UW - XVS, N954UW - XVQ, N953UW - XVP, N952UW - XVO, N951UW - XVM.

The marks that are still available are:- XVB, D, E, F, J, K, L. so with 949 not in the 6 to come and my mind working overtime my guess is:- 944 - B, 945 - D, 946 - E, 947 - F, 948 - J and 950 - L.

Any comments after my Sunday morning thoughts??
