VH-SXO (231) was a Sky Air World frame back in 2008, it was then written off flying for Myanmar Airlines in 2019.

VH-UYJ is with Air North still
VH-UYR is back flying for Alliance mainly in the Qlink operation
VH-XFM is still flying for Alliance but I’d guess it will go to the UK soon for maintenance and painting to Air North

UYO, UYW, UYY and UYZ are all Qlink colours

Hey Greg, how do you get this information? CASA's website hasn't been updated since the 9th and doesn't show NJE's 8QB either.

If you note a problem with the CASA site you should log the problem with CASA. I logged "Your online Aircraft Register has not updated since 09/08/24" with CASA last week.

If more users would log problems then they might get fixed more quickly.

Just checked and the CASA site is now working

Qantas to bump E190 fleet by YE24 - Alliance Air

By Andrew Curran 29Aug2024

Qantas (QF, Sydney Kingsford Smith) will exercise the final four E190 options it holds with Alliance Airlines (QQ, Brisbane International) by the end of the year, according to Alliance managing director Scott McMillan, who says the closed charter and wet lease specialist carrier is increasingly well-positioned to capitalise on the demand for capacity with its growing fleet of E190s.
"The aviation market worldwide is looking very bullish in terms of capacity," McMillan told an August 29 analysts' briefing following the release of its FY2024 results. "We committed last year to purchase thirty E190s from AerCap. It's a decision that, with the benefit of hindsight, is looking better and better every month."

Qantas, which holds a 19.73% stake in Alliance, already has twenty-six E190s in its fleet, all operated on a wet lease basis by Alliance. Another two will go to Qantas in September, a third towards the end of October, and the fourth in December.
Alliance had settled on ten of those thirty ex-AerCap E190s as of June 30, 2024. The airline has since settled on three more, including two this week. "The goal is to have all 30 AerCap aircraft delivered by June 2026," McMillan said. Seven of those aircraft will be parted out, providing Alliance with a stock of spare parts to use on its fleet, but also to sell to other Embraer operators.

Alliance had also secured four E190s from Azorra Aviation, now all delivered and in operation for the carrier, as well as an initial tranche of thirty-three E190s from Jetran and Azorra, also now all delivered.

As of June 30, Alliance had possession of forty-seven E190s. Another four are due for delivery this quarter, and three more are expected in the fourth quarter. In calendar 2025, the airline expects ten E190 deliveries - three in the first quarter, two each in the second and third quarters, and three in the final three months of the year. Two more E190s are due in the first quarter of 2026 and the final one in the second quarter of that year - taking the E190 delivery total to 67 airframes. However, the number of operational E190s will be fewer as some will be sold and others are already or will be parted out.

"We have people knocking on our door all the time wanting to buy either engines or airframes or both from us, and a number of these E190s are lower serial numbers," said McMillan. "It does make sense for us to sell some of the airframes and retain the engines."

At the close of the 2024 financial year, Alliance Airlines had 72 aircraft in revenue service. In addition to the E190s, the airline had thirteen Fokker 70s and twenty-four Fokker 100s in service. During the 2024 financial year, it acquired three additional F100s, with two being parted out and one due to enter service this month on a wet-lease basis with Virgin Australia (VA, Brisbane International).

"We've got significant growth and are turning away business," McMillan said. "We'll be building our Embraer operations in Queensland and strengthening our Fokker operations in Western Australia. In addition to finalising the four aircraft going to Qantas, we have people talking to us about buying Embraers, and we are finalising the dry leases for two additional E190s. We don't see any future changes to what we're doing - growing our fleet, growing our earnings, growing our cash flow, and ultimately reducing our debt as quickly as possible. That's the strategy."

Alliance generated an after-tax profit of AUD60.5 million Australian dollars (USD41.2 million) in the 12 months to June 30, 2024, on revenue of AUD646.8 million (USD441.2 million). Closed charter contract revenue, primarily flying for mining and resource companies, generated 48% of the total revenues; wet lease ops for customers such as
Qantas and Virgin Australia accounted for 41%. Ad hoc charters accounted for 2.6%, regular passenger transport services accounted for 2%, and other services such as MRO, the sale of parts, ground handling, and aerodrome management accounted for the remainder.

Another E.190 has ferried MCN to SJO, on 23/8/24, N203JB. There are 6 there now.

Thanks Dennis,

The six in SJO are:

N184JB, N190JB, N192JB, N193JB, N197JB, N203JB

As per the announcement above (and previous) 7 (or more) are to be reduced to spares, 3 we know (on VH-Reg) and the first 4 above could be the other candidates. All the above are still on the N-reg.

We should get an indication with the next a/c to leave SJO because 4 of these may be staying.

Also, interesting N198JB which should of been the next from MCO->SJO was skipped.

We live in interesting times.

I've summarised the EOY report (& hopefully go it right)

QF x 26, + 2 x Sept, 1 x Oct, 1 x Dec = Total 30

AerCap/JetBlue - 30 with 13 in QQ ownership
Azzora/JetBlue - 4 with 4 in QQ ownership (A2T, A2U,A2V,A3U)

Delv schedule:

June30 - 47 in use
CY24Q3 - + 4
CY24Q4 - + 3
CY25Q1 - + 3
CY25Q2 - + 2
CY25Q3 - + 2
CY25Q4 - + 3
CY26Q1 - + 2
CY26Q2 - + 1

Total 20 - Fleet 67 (dependent on part-out/sale)

Dennis McLean

Hi Greg, You might be spot on. I have just had a look at Airline Fleets and it shows 21 with QFLink, so these may only be the ones painted in QFlink livery, all 6 x UZ, all 10 x XV and 5 x UY, E, O, W, Y and Z. So I guess the other 5 must still be in Alliance livery, or perhaps UYR which is all white. With A2T, U and V all flying for Alliance it will be interesting what livery A3U will leave Norwich in??

Alliance have announced today that they have signed a Letter of Intent to sell six E190 airframes to a European company. The aircraft will be flown to Europe, with the engines then removed and shipped to Australia.

Alliance also say they have signed a LOI to sell 13 surplus, time expired or unserviceable Rolls-Royce Tay 620/650 engines to another European operator.

Will these E190s be the parts ships (OU_, etc.) or some of the active aircraft in the fleet?

Lauren it says they are coming straight from the aircraft in the USA :)

The six aircraft will be flown from the delivery point in the United States direct to Europe, where
the engines will be removed and shipped to Australia. The airframes will be delivered and
settled at the point of engine removal.

Does Alliance still have links to the company in Slovakia?

Does Alliance still have links to the company in Slovakia?

Alliance Aviation Slovakia was mentioned in the FY24 Financial Report as well as:

The Group commenced base maintenance activities at the Rockhampton hangar in November 2023. In addition to this capacity the Group use a number of base maintenance providers including Jet Aviation in Cairns, Fokker Services Asia in Singapore, Austrian Airlines Technik in Slovakia, Coopesa in Costa Rica and KLMUK in the United Kingdom to fill shortfalls as Rockhampton works towards full capabilities.

My guess, Yes It does.

So they could use this as a facility to remove & ship engines back too Oz.

https://careers.allianceairlines.com.au/

Also, last month QQ had a massive advertising blitz to get qualified engineers for the Rocky base. This included an item on the local TV news.

Hi Dennis,

I believe it is VH-UYF as hard to read .I guess the Jet Blue liveried aircraft that have ferried to ROK may have passed this on as spare parts and it is yet to be painted on the Alliance aircraft.

I'm keeping on eye on the Norwich paint shop.

With the 3 on the VH-Reg and 4 in SJO that probably is the 7 to be scrapped.

A JB 190 was rolled into the NWI paint shop over the weekend.

Greg Hyde
20th November 2024, 03:21 PM
Yes, the same of the ones on the VH-Reg.

It is something to do with part (component) traceability.

Someone with an engineering background can better explain.

If I'm right (could be wrong) the next one coming our way should be from: N198JB, N203JB, N228JB

Also, from the last announcement 6 are going to Europe to be parted-out, with the engines being returned to QQ.

Brenden S

The aircraft remains registered until all parts have been placed into the stores system under removal of a serviceable component. There are ways around the regs.

From CH-Aviation

Alliance Aviation Services Limited, trading as Alliance Airlines (QQ, Brisbane International), has executed contracts to sell six E190 airframes and thirteen Rolls-Royce engine cores, according to a November 28 Australian Stock Exchange filing.

The filing says the company signed the airframe contracts with US-based Scissortail Aviation LLC and Sydney-based Bellinger Asset Management Pty Ltd. It signed the engine core contract with Curaçao-based Airline Technical Support Caribe B.V.

The E190 airframes come from a parcel of 30 aircraft purchased from AerCap in early 2023. Four of the six being sold are already owned by Alliance, and the company is due to settle on the remaining two in the first quarter of 2025. Deliveries to Scissortail and Bellinger will begin next month and conclude by the end of February.

Alliance will retain ownership of the engines, undercarriages, and auxiliary power units, which will be stored in Europe and remarketed or retained for internal use.

The company says the thirteen Rolls-Royce Tay 620 and 650 engines are either surplus, time-expired, or unserviceable. Alliance's fleet of F70s and F100s use the engine type.

Deliveries of the engines have already commenced and will also be finalised by the end of February.

Alliance Airlines says the transactions monetise surplus inventory holdings and provide additional high-value componentry in ready-for-sale condition. The company expects to record a cash and capital expenditure avoidance benefit of AUD20-23 million Australian dollars (USD13-15 million) in the first half of 2025 from the asset sales.

Wet Lease Arrangement Announced - Member Views Sought

The Company has this morning formally written to the AFAP regarding their decision to undertake a wet lease arrangement with Air North, initially for the month of November.

The full notification provided to the AFAP is copied below:
--Wet lease of one Airnorth E190 aircraft – November 2024—
From November, Network Aviation intends to wet lease an E190 aircraft from Airnorth on a temporary basis to support F100 aircraft availability, resilience across the fleets, following delays to the entry into service of A319 aircraft.

We intend to utilise Airnorth to wet lease one E190 aircraft for the month of November. This arrangement will be reviewed towards the end of November.
It is proposed that the Airnorth E190 will be deployed on up to four sectors per day, three days per week (Tuesday to Thursday) operating from Perth to Kalgoorlie and/or Broome.

Network Aviation plans to commence the wet lease arrangement on Tuesday, 5 November.

N273JB which has been in SAL (San Salvador) since 12/12/24, returned to BOS (Boston) for Jet Blue on 17/1/25. Must have been maintenance.

VH-UYC, which returned to DRW from KNX on 20/12/24 has not moved. It had been in KNX since 28/11/24.

UYC suffered a tech issue late last year and is expected to be returned to QQ when resolved.

Noticed in an overseas publication that N184JB has been scrapped in SJO (like we expected) but all 4 thought to be scrapped are current on the N-Reg.

Also euro-scrappers were expected to be finalised by the end of next month.

N266JB has also been wfu & stored.

N274JB, MSN 1900082, ferried BOS/MCN on 16/1/2025. That leaves only 6 left in service with Jet Blue N267JB, N273JB, N279JB, N281JB, N283JB, N284JB. Interesting, 5 arrived in BOS from various places on 24/1 or 25/1 with 1 due to arrive there late on 25/1.

What we know & (I guess)

Some of the aircraft stored at MCN & BHM will be scrapped (Euro) by end of this month (reportedly). That's why the MCN test flights have increased.

Alliance posts solid half-year as wet-leasing grows
written by Jake Nelson | February 17, 2025

Alliance has seen continued growth in the first half of the 2025 financial year, with a boost in finances and record flight hours.

The FIFO and charter operator, which had 76 aircraft in revenue service as of 31 December, posted a statutory pre-tax profit of $41.3 million, up $3.6 million or 9.5 per cent, with 58,362 total flight hours, up from 50,793. 97 per cent of these hours were flown under long-term contracts.

According to managing director Scott McMillan, Alliance added four aircraft to its operational fleet and enjoyed solid financial results despite “continued challenges posed by a rising cost environment together with increased industrial relations activity”, as well as damage to three of its planes due to circumstances outside its control.

“In this period, we have seen a notable increase in flight hours, reflecting our commitment to meeting the growing demand for reliable air services. Our fleet has been operating at higher capacity, ensuring we continue to provide consistent service to our clients and strengthen our market position,” he said.

“This increase in flying activity has been a key driver behind the growth of our wet lease revenue, which has shown a marked improvement compared to prior years.

“In a rising cost environment, we have remained focused on driving efficiencies and adapting to the changing economic landscape. Our ability to increase profits amid higher operating costs is a testament to the resilience of our business model and the hard work of our team.

“We are committed to managing our costs effectively while continuing to invest in our fleet and infrastructure to support future growth.”

Contract charters remained steady throughout the half, while ad-hoc and RPT hours declined; however, wet-lease hours soared by 4,757 over the second half of the 2024 financial year, with Qantas having called in all of its 30 Embraer E190 wet-lease options, the last of which is set to be delivered this month.

The company previously saw a record year in 2023-24, driven by wet-lease revenues.
“In accordance with our previously stated strategy to increase our aviation services activity, we are confident that, given the global demand for aviation assets, we will be able to achieve significant monetisation of the company’s extensive inventory,” said McMillan.

“Alliance Airlines will continue to thrive in the second half of the year, building on our strong foundation and adapting to the evolving aviation landscape.”

I’m wondering if UYN might be getting painted into Qlink colours, hasn’t flown since arriving in TSV the day that UYR came out…if memory serves me correct Qlink has the use of 30 E190s, there’s 30 in two class config with UYC back flying for QQ, with JetBlue birds arriving we might now see the remaining in QQ livery (UYF, I, J, K, N and U) as well as UYC get painted into Qlink livery?
