Virgin have AirNorth E190 operated flights scheduled BNE - TSV up to 2 return services a day and BNE - DRW 2 return flights per week over the next couple of months.

I have had a look at the Casa listing for the XV group of registrations. The ones left are XVB, E, F, J, K, L, O, P, S, T, U, X, Y and Z. That is 14 available. There are 16 AA machines of which the youngest 6 have received UZ regos, 955UW to 967UW, which leaves 10 to go. 951UW is XVM and 954UW is XVQ. so here is my thinking. From the oldest - 944UW should be XVB, 945 - E, 946 - F, 947 - J, 948 - K, 950 - L, 952 - O and 953 - P. Any comments??

Thanks for posting this table, Stirling. You've put a lot of work into obtaining and recording the information. Do you have the previous registration of each aircraft in the background at all? I presume that 2016 signifies that the aircraft is in QANTAS livery.

JetBlue had the only US (from new) fleet of that number to fulfill the order size. They are currently updating the E190's to A220's and have recently announced that they wish to speed up the process.

Jetblue already have around 10 jets which they retired late/2022 and early this year in storage.

I'd actually be hoping they get a full refit. The old seatback TVs and in-armrest controllers are very dated and were barely useable when I last flew their E190 in 2016.

I would have to agree, screens in seats are so last century, and usually have boxes on the floor that impact feet room. The Wifi internet JetBlue offer is not an option here as there is no coverage so a cabin revamp with Boardconnect streaming seems a logical solution.

If you put the same analogy into Australian skies, QQ don't really have any major competition in their market so with that in mind there is no need to over capitalise these planes. I expect that they will do the minimum to create a safe, reliable service as per their lease contracts.

I suspect you're right. I was arguing against the B6 IFE on the E190 being of any real value these days. I've flown their A320/321 since, and the older version there was slightly better than E190, the stage 2 refit a major upgrade..

For some unknown reason, no doubt mechanical, N945UW remained in SDM from last Friday to Wednesday, it then ferried to Oakland 07.56/09.12 PST, it has ferried now OAK/HNL 10.12PST/2.07pmHST, and at the moment is 30 minutes from HNL.

The CEO of the Bristow Group, owners of Airnorth (Australia) (TL, Darwin), says they plan to transition out of ERJ 170-100LR operations into E190 operations but the lack of aircraft availability is delaying that.

Speaking at the Bristow's 3Q 2023 analyst's briefing on March 9, 2023, Chris Bradshaw said Bristow was forced to acquire additional E170-100LRs last year after talks about E190 leases proved fruitless. "We're looking at bringing in some additional leased new 190s for the Airnorth business," he said. "Those market opportunities really dissolved with the lessor. So, we're going to keep some 170s for a little bit longer than we expected. We actually purchased two of those E170s last year to facilitate the time line we're going to need to complete the transition. We are still looking to bring in the larger aircraft on attractive terms moving forward, but it's going to take a little more time to complete the transition from the E170 to E190s in the Airnorth business."

Airnorth operates scheduled passenger and charter flights, primarily out of Darwin. In addition to flying to Dili in Timor Leste, the airline operates scheduled flights to 12 destinations in Queensland, the Northern Territory, and Western Australia, as well as charter operations to multiple destinations across northern Australia. According to the ch-aviation fleets advanced module, Airnorth has six EMB-120ERs, three E170-100LRs, and three ERJ 190-100ARs in its fleet. The latter aircraft are leased from Alliance Airlines (QQ, Brisbane International) after that airline began acquiring Embraer aircraft in 2020.

In addition to Airnorth, the Bristow Group has interests in fixed and rotary wing operations in India, Egypt, Nigeria, Brazil, Canada, Guyana, Mexico, Suriname, Trinidad, the US, the Dutch Caribbean, the UK, Norway, Spain, the North Sea, the Netherlands, and the Falkland Islands.

Bradshaw's comments on the difficulties of acquiring additional E190s for its Australian operation were made one week after Alliance Airlines announced that it had secured an additional thirty E190-100ARs for delivery between 3Q 2023 and 2026. ch-aviation has since confirmed that these aircraft are sourced from JetBlue Airways (B6, New York JFK). While Alliance Airlines hasn't outlined specific plans for their additional Embraers, they have thus far built up a solid business model using them on their own scheduled and charter operations as well as leasing them to other operators, including Airnorth and Qantas (QF, Sydney Kingsford Smith). The later airline already wet-leases 16 of Alliance's twenty-seven E190-100ARs and recently announced plans to grow that number to 30 by 1Q 2025.

Alliance announced today that QF have exercised another 4 E190 options taking their wet lease numbers to 22. Announcement also mentions that 6 E190’s were modified for extended range operations and have held CASA EDTO approval since July 2022.

QF references today using E190’s on BNE WLG (daily) and BNE HIR (3 times weekly). Presumably more international routes to come. Nothing came of the earlier conjecture of DRW SIN flights.

I wonder if the 6 E.190 modified ones are the 6 VH-UZ's, but then XFC, XFL and XFM are all coded as "LR" and have a higher Maximum takeoff weight of 50,300 than the rest of the fleet at 47,790 which are coded "IGW". Interesting though the one which has not yet flown, XVQ, the white one, is shown at 51,800. I found this on the CASA listing.
